## Roles

Each member of an account has one role. Stagely checks the current role on every request from the console, the CLI or MCP.

| Role | Can |
| ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Member | See the account, its members, environments, projects, stagelets, billing and linked GitHub App installations. Deploy, open and delete stagelets. Edit project config. Link a GitHub App installation they have access to. Subscribe through Stripe Checkout. Leave the account. |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus: rename the account, invite and remove members and admins, change roles between member and admin, manage environments and projects, unlink GitHub App installations, change the plan and its extra stagelets, and open the Stripe billing portal. |
| Owner | Everything, including granting, changing and removing the owner role. An account always keeps at least one owner. |

The person who creates an account is its owner. To run `stagely setup` or create projects, you need the admin or owner role.

## Invite someone

1. Open **Settings**, then **Invitations**.
2. Enter the person's email address and choose **Member** or **Admin**.
3. Click **Send invitation**.

The person opens the invitation link, signs in with GitHub and clicks **Accept invitation**.

## Remove someone

Open **Settings**, then **Members**. Open the actions for the person. Click **Remove from account**, then **Remove member**.

When a member leaves or is removed:

- Their CLI and coding agent grants for the account end.
- Their open stagelet sessions stop within about 50 seconds.
- Stagely cancels the open invitations that they sent. It also cancels the enrollment tokens that they created and that nobody used.

## Connected apps

The `stagely` CLI and coding agents sign in with OAuth. Each sign-in creates a grant. A grant lasts at most one hour.

To see and end your grants, open **Settings**, then **Access**. Under **Connected apps**, click **Revoke** on a grant, then **Revoke access**. The app loses access at once. The stagelet sessions that it opened stop within about 50 seconds.

A client can also end its own grant when it signs out, as `stagely logout` and `claude mcp logout` do.

## Billing

Every member can subscribe. Admins and owners change the plan and manage billing. [Plans and billing](https://stagely.dev/docs/setup/billing.md) describes the plans, their limits and the trial.
